Talent Development (GT/D) Identification

Posted 01/25/2018

The Center for Talent Development (CTD) provides a rigorous, standards-based instruction model based off the Gifted and Talented (GT) practice and pedagogy.  At CTD, we look at multiple measures beyond the Colorado Department of Education criteria for GT for our Talent Development identification (GT/D) process.  The different measurements that we use for the GT/D identification are listed below.

  • 75th percentile on the Naglieri Nonverbal Ability Test (NNAT3)
  • At or Above average performance on CMAS state testing (grades 3-5)
  • At or Above average performance on Diagnostic Assessments for both math and literacy
  • Teacher Recommendations
  • Kingore Observation Inventory

If your child has not yet met these requirements don’t worry we offer universal Gifted and Talented instructional practices for all students during core instruction.  We also are developing a process to identify and develop students talents in the following non academic areas.

  • Arts
  • Athletics
  • Language
  • Leadership
