CTD is a DPS Learning Lab school and because of that we have a teaching academy located in CTD.
Teaching Academies are more than educator pipelines — they are vibrant learning hubs where students, preservice teachers (PSTs), associate teachers, mentors, and leaders engage in culturally responsive, anti-racist, rigorous learning. These academies are schools that serve as living models of collaborative professional growth, responsive coaching, and inclusive practice – where the art and science of teaching are continuously studied, refined, and shared.
These schools embody a commitment to growing community-based teaching talent and creating opportunities for PSTs and ATs to develop into effective, equity-centered educators.
At the core of this vision is the belief that high-quality teaching is developed in a community—with intentional structures that connect educators, university partners, DPS specialists, and the broader community in shared learning.
